  • Nick Wilson

    Columnist

I have been a fan and student of Mixed Martial Arts since 1994. After renting UFC 2 from a local video store, I immediately joined AMC Pankration in Kirkland, WA to learn Muay Thai, Boxing, Jiu-Jitsu, Catch Wrestling and Sambo. My passion is for the sport of kickboxing, specifically K-1 fighting, but I'm still a huge MMA fan and have watched every major event from the last 15 years. I'm still a student/amateur fighter at AMC and have started judging local amateur fights because I feel the sport needs more judges who understand leg kicks hurt and fighting from the back doesn't equate to losing the fight.

I was born and raised in southwest Kansas, went to college in Nebraska and now live in Texas. I'm an obsessed basketball fan and my favorite month is March. I'm totally obsessed with the Kansas Jayhawks and wear a Jayhawk shirt every day. I have both football and basketball coaching experience in Oklahoma, Nebraska and now Texas.

I'm married and my family means more to me than anything else. I'm currently a Campus Minister in Texas and have been a beat writer for high school football games in Oklahoma. I'm a big fan of college sports, the NFL (Oakland Raiders fan), the NBA (Thunder and Celtics), the Texas Rangers and want to write about religion in sports.

I know my sports trivia and excited about letting you know what's going on in the sports world.
    Holler at me.

  • Taylor Davey

    Columnist

Well, to get down to the nitty gritty, I love sports. I always have loved sports, and I always will. Having the opportunity on two websites to voice my opinion and spew facts vociferously is awesome. Love it. Guess it's time for the "about me" stuff. Well, I'm about to become legal on St. Patty's Day. Had my pick of colleges to attend for free, and I chose the University of Memphis because of proximity and a girl. Love reading Chuck Palahniuk, James Patterson, John Grisham, Stephen King, and Cormac McCarthy. Along with being enamored with sports, I also enjoy watching and critiquing movies. And, The Social Network should have won Best Picture and Best Director this year. Just sayin'. Oh yeah, and I play basketball, baseball, some soccer, and golf on occasion. Guess that's it. And another thing, THE University of Southern California is my school. Fight On!

  • Dan Kirby

    Columnist

I am a born and raised Chicagoan who enjoys mixing my 2 passions, sports and writing. I can be serious when I write, but much prefer to be ridiculous....as you will see. And the answer to your question is Cubs.
