Will We Be Calling Her The Comeback Kid In 2011?

Last week on the Savage Dog Show, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker gave listeners an insight into what could possibly be the return of the face of women’s MMA, Gina “Conviction” Carano. After her loss to current 145lb champ, Cristaine Santos aka “Cyborg” back in August of last year, Carano took some time away from the cage to pursue other interests, namely acting.

She recently completed shooting on the yet to be released Steven Soderbergh film, Haywire.

Coker alluded to the fact that Carano would not want to hang it up after losing in the manner that she did against Cyborg. He feels that she will most likely make a triumphant return to action some time next year.

In the year since Carano’s loss, Santos has demolished two opponents with relative ease, and doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon. If Carano does intend on making a return to fighting, she might want to get started with a new camp ASAP.
