Mike Minor Major Fantasy Factor

Brett Kettyle On Wednesday, 25 August 2010. Views: 1927

Rookie Is Posting Impressive Strikeout Numbers in his First Full Season

When the Atlanta Braves drafted Mike Minor 7th overall last year, many criticized the Braves for taking a “safe” pick that was close to being MLB ready but only had the projected ceiling of a number three starter.

Minor’s fantasy baseball outlook looked even bleaker. Although he could have been a good third starter, he never would be more than a fringe pickup in standard sized leagues as he wasn’t going to strike many batters out. Considered a finesse lefty, nobody predicted that Minor ...

Is Strasburg's Injury Starting To Become A Worrisome Pattern?

For the second time in less than a month, Washington Nationals prized starting pitcher, Stephen Strasburg, is heading to the DL.

Pitching this past Saturday against the Phillies, Strasburg was removed after apparently feeling some pain in his forearm after throwing a changeup. 5 Year Deal Is Worth $9.9 Million

Last year, the Washington Nationals negotiated with uber-agent Scott Boras right up until the deadline to sign Stephen Strasburg. This year, the Nationals had to negotiate with Boras again right to the last minute to sign #1 overall draft pick Bryce Harper. These last- minute negotiations must be getting to seem like old hat for the Nationals.

Just as the midnight deadline was approaching, the two sides were able to come to an agreement on a 5 year, $9.9 million deal for the 17 year old Harper.
