Astros relief pitcher Alberto Arias will undergo surgery on his right shoulder Wednesday and is likely out for the season.

Arias, who was bothered by shoulder soreness from the beginning of spring training, saw a series of setbacks lead to a Monday night appointment with team physician Dr. David Lintner and the decision to perform surgery at the Methodist Hospital.

Recently, several black baseball players have been making their feelings known about a racist element they feel exists in major league baseball today.  Most vocal about this issue has been Minnesota Twins second baseman, Orlando Hudson.  His conjecture is that black free agents are overlooked more often than those of another race.
