Mike Minor Major Fantasy Factor

Rookie Is Posting Impressive Strikeout Numbers in his First Full Season

When the Atlanta Braves drafted Mike Minor 7th overall last year, many criticized the Braves for taking a “safe” pick that was close to being MLB ready but only had the projected ceiling of a number three starter.

Minor’s fantasy baseball outlook looked even bleaker. Although he could have been a good third starter, he never would be more than a fringe pickup in standard sized leagues as he wasn’t going to strike many batters out. Considered a finesse lefty, nobody predicted that Minor ...

Strasburg Helpful For Fantasy Owners

Strasburg Will Now be Able to Impact Fantasy Playoff Races

When Stephen Strasburg went on the DL, many fantasy owners frowned as it was just another injury. If you were like me, you were already dealing with other injuries to guys like Dustin Pedrioa, and didn’t want to think about how you were going to replace a dominant young strikeout artist.

There are four main things I look for when trying to gauge whether a player is likely to perform better or worse than with his old team.

Fantasy First Half Review: First Base

Brett Kettyle On Thursday, 24 June 2010. Views: 1620

With the MLB season nearing its halfway point (and most H2H fantasy leagues with playoffs already at the halfway point) it’s time to take a look back at the first baseman. One of the deepest positions in fantasy, it wasn’t unreasonable if all of the top 5 first basemen were drafted in the first round. Of the top 50 players in fantasy to date, nine have eligibility at first base (although most people are using Kevin Youkilis and Martin Prado elsewhere, and they will be included under third base and second base, respectively). There is a good chance that people are using a first baseman as their utility player, so some of the lists will be expanded to show some solid performers who don’t crack the top 5.
